The Routan comes with a standard six-speed automatic transmission mated to a 3.8-liter V6 with 197 horsepower or an available 4.0-liter V6 with 253 horsepower. Function follows form with fuel economy numbers of 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway for the 3.8-liter and 17 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway in the 4.0-liter.
